Pietro marubbi (Area)

Marobbi but also Marubi (Albanian: Pjetër Marubi; Piacenza, August 14, 1832 - Shkodër, May 22, 1903) was a painter, sculptor, architect and photographer who founded the Photo studio - Studio "Marubbi" thus becoming the father of photography in the Albanian world . After his involvement in the Risorgimento movement in the unification of Italy, he escaped and found refuge in Ottoman Shkodra, where he spent most of his life, but was also a photographer of the courtyard of the monastery in Montenegro, as well as a reporter for the newspapers of the time L' Illustration, The Illustrated London News, La Guerra d'Oriente and L'Illustrazione Italiana.

He was born in Piacenza on August 14, 1832, then part of the Duchy of Parma, with the birth name Benedetto Pietro Lorenzo Marobbi, the son of Antonio Marobbi and Maria Cervini (Cervini); his father was a sawyer (later he worked as a doorman and in a pharmacy), he married his wife when he was 33 years old, of the six children they had as a couple, only Pietro and his sister, Maria Luigia (Luigia), survived. Pietro attended the art school of the Gazzola Institute of his hometown. It is thought that he was apprenticed to the artisan Antonio Carra, who was accused of murdering Duke Charles III. In 1854, he was arrested on the charge of kalpazan, a coin forger, and was sentenced by the court in Piacenza to 20 years in prison. He was released after three years thanks to an amnesty from the sovereign, and after his release he left his hometown with two former accomplices shortly after the assassination of the Duke of Parma. The three Italians left via Mantua for Venice, and from Trieste boarded a ship for Corfu. After a stay on this island which had become a gathering point for Italian revolutionary fugitives, he moved once more towards Trieste and in 1858 took a ship to Zara where he presented himself as a painter and lithographer, but was imprisoned for six months on April 28, 1858 for of contacts with Italian revolutionary circles, then went to Budva and finally settled in Shkodër in October 1858 where he presented himself as a painter.
